Learn About The Three Aspects of our Food Ministry

Loaves & Fishes

There is a food collection on the first Sunday of every month as well as special collections throughout the year (Lent and Advent). The food collected is used to supplement the Sunshine Cathedral Food Sharing Ministry. Our Loaves and Fishes team of dedicated volunteers will meet the donors and accept their food donations in the alley between the Lawrence/Lewis Center for Worship and the Arts and the Social Hall area.

Brown Bag

Brown Bag lunches are pre-packed and ready-to-eat lunch meals that include non-perishable items such as meats, fruit or applesauce cup, snacks, water.  Brown Bag lunches are available to anyone – no questions asked.

The bags are assembled every Wednesday morning by a team of dedicated volunteers and then distributed around the community to locations and organizations that will provide them to their clients. We also keep Brown Bag lunches on hand at Sunshine Cathedral for distribution to anyone who stops by throughout the week.

Food Pantry

The Food Pantry is offered in partnership with Feeding South Florida, the United Way (Project Lifeline), and the generosity of the Sunshine Cathedral community. The Pantry is open every Wednesday from 10:45am – ?? (whenever we run out of grocery bags – usually by 12:30pm) and is staffed by a group of dedicated Sunshine Cathedral volunteers.
The Sunshine Cathedral Food Pantry offers a grocery bag of pantry staples, frozen meat, fresh produce, bread, and other items as available. Our Food Pantry is unique in that no one is required to present ID or financial information in order to receive food. All are welcome!

We're always in need of monetary support as well!
