Canon Theologian

The Rev. Dr. Robert W. Lee “Rob” is a pastor, public theologian, and author. He serves as Canon Theologian for Sunshine Cathedral, where he offers theological perspectives and ideas to help the congregation better understand themselves and their lives of faith. He does this through residencies of preaching, teaching, and support to the executive leadership team both on-location in Fort Lauderdale and online.

Dr. Lee is a graduate of Appalachian State University (BA, ‘15), Duke University Divinity School (MTS, ‘17) and Pacific School of Religion (DMin, ‘24). He is the author of six books. Through his work in public theology, he has appeared on MTV, The View, MSNBC, CNN, ABC News, and CBS News. His written work has appeared in various secular and religious outlets. He has preached from such pulpits as The Historic Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, The Memorial Church at Harvard University, Rockefeller Chapel at the University of Chicago, The Old North Church in Boston’s North End, and the American Cathedral in Paris, France.

Lee is a native of Statesville, North Carolina where he lives with his wife, his two kids, and two dogs.
