Divine Spirit, Mother/Father God, Parent of us all, may each of us be reflections of your beauty and grace in this world. And may the words of my mouth and the meditations of all of our hearts bring peace and healing to all living beings. Amen.

Well, I would be remiss if I didn’t acknowledge that today is Mother’s Day. 

And I want you to notice that I didn’t say “Happy Mother’s Day.” 

I know that for some people, Mother’s Day isn’t happy. 

Maybe your mother is no longer on this earthly plane. Maybe you have or had a very strained relationship with your mother or you simply don’t know your mother. Maybe you are estranged from your mother. 

And maybe your mother is here with you this morning. Maybe you have a loving and caring relationship with your mother. 

Maybe your working on your relationship with your mother.

We all have different experiences.
