Rev. Dr. Jim Forbes is the Senior Minister Emeritus of the Riverside Church in NYC (built by John Rockerfeller in 1927). Riverside is dually affiliated with American Baptist Churches USA and the United Church of Christ. Dr. Forbes was the first African American minister to lead Riverside and he was their Senior Minister for 18 years. Dr. Forbes has taught at both Auburn Seminary and Union Theological Seminary in the City of New York. He holds a BS from Howard University, an MDiv from Union Theological Seminary, and a DMin from Colgate Rochester Crozer Divinity School. Dr. Forbes is the author of both Whose Gospel: A Concise Guide to Progressive Protestantism and The Holy Spirit & Preaching. Dr. Forbes has twice been named by Ebony Magazine as “one of the greatest Black preachers in America” and a survey at Baylor University named him as one of the 12 most effective preachers in the English speaking world.
Rev. Dr. Sheryl Kujawa-Holbrook is an Episcopal priest, a professor of Anglican Studies at Bloy House, and the Vice-President and Dean of the Faculty of Claremont School of Theology in California. Before going to Claremont she was the Academic Dean of the Episcopal Divinity School. She is on the board of the Journal of Inter-Religious Studies and prior to her career as a seminary educator served as a chaplain and youth minister. She holds a BA from Marquette University, an MA from Sarah Lawrence College, an MTS from Harvard Divinity School, an MDiv from Episcopal Divinity School, an EdD from Columbia University, and a PhD from Boston College. She is the author of a dozen books, including God Beyond Borders: Interreligious Learning Among Congregations (Wipf & Stock, 2014); Journey to the Center of the Heart (Skylight Paths, 2013); The Heart of a Pastor: A Biography of Edmond Lee Browning (Forward Movement, 2010); Born of Water, Born of Spirit (Alban Institute, 2010), and Injustice and the Care of Souls: Pastoral Care in Marginalized Communities (Fortress Press, 2009).
Rev. Elder Pat Bumgardner is an Elder in the MCC movement, the senior pastor of MCC New York, and the Founder and Executive Director of the Global Justice Institute.
Rev. Dewayne Davis is the senior pastor of All God’s Children Community Church in Minneapolis. He is the son of a Pentecostal bishop, the husband of a lobbyist, and he is a former Senator’s aide and former staff member for the DC office of The Episcopal Church. He is a graduate of Wesley Theological Seminary.
Rev. Elder Don Eastman is the founder of the Ministry Excellence Center, a coaching and resourcing ministry to help congregations thrive. A graduate of Central Bible College, he was ordained in the Assemblies of God before becoming a pastor in Metropolitan Community Churches. In MCC, he has been the senior pastor of MCC Dallas, the Vice-Moderator of the MCC Global Movement, the Executive Pastor of MCC Toronto, the Provisional Pastor of Founders MCC (Los Angeles), and a consultant to several churches including MCC of the Palm Beaches, All God’s Children Community Church (Minneapolis), MCC San Diego (“The Met”), Resurrection MCC (Houston), and Sunshine Cathedral (Fort Lauderdale).
